House of Opportunity is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 1813 South 6th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by House of Opportunity. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at House of Opportunity.
If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At House of Opportunity, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged Adult men, Seniors or older adults, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.
The staff members at House of Opportunity have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at House of Opportunity. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.
Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. House of Opportunity can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

I really appreciate the time I do there with the homeless
They help the homeless needy and misguided people. Who have lost their jobs, sanity, clean healthama family and friends due to drugs or the wrong choices.
The name "Opportunity Center" is very fitting, as there are many helpful services provided here. Breakfast and Lunch are served here- check their website for the specific meal times schedule. You can also go to the facility in person and get a monthly calendar of the services offered there; the calendar is available at the front desk right when you enter the building. To enter the building and utilize any of the services, including meals, you'll need to scan your Community Card. If you don't have a Community Card you can get a temporary card for the day- if you want a permanent Community Card (& they'll probably suggest it) you can get one at Saint Olaf's Adult Shelter Connect. Staff here is helpful and kind, from the front desk to the volunteers and employees serving meals. Services here range from meals, enrollment in the Lifeline phone program, locker access, showers, a Culinary Arts program, Soles for Souls (foot care), assistance searching for employment, and more. If you want to utilize any of their services, I recommend you call ahead and find out if you need to arrive early to get your name on a list for first any first-come, first-serve services. For example, the Lifeline phone program representatives take clients one or two at a time in the order of the sign-up list. You can stay and sit at the tables in the main area between meals if you want to beat the heat or avoid the cold- or just need a safe place to spend part of your day. However, during mealtimes you may be asked to leave once you've finished eating to allow room for the 2nd round of people waiting to eat. This isn't a 24/7 center or a shelter; it's only open for about the first half of the day. I gave it 5 stars and took the time to review it because it's an excellent resource to those who can benefit from its services. I am grateful for the Opportunity Center and all that it provides, keep up the great work!

I used to live here. It is an exceptional opportunity for people needing a little headstart on getting their lives back on track. Unfortunately many of the residents take advantage of the generosity of this place, and continue a life of crime with absolutely no ambition to change, which unfortunately happens all too frequently here. Everyone is treated in a way that gives them many chances, but it is such a shame to see a remarkably high percentage of tenants doing literally nothing but live rent free on the state and county dime. I wish there were mandatory progress goals to meet in order to encourage people to be a value to society, rather than acting completely entitled to not pay for anything, and still complain about how nothing is good enough. They did me right, so I did them right. 😃
They have many resources available that are designed to help people get back on their feet, rather than only offering some needs (which they still do).
Under new management the director is a great guy got me a job working there helping the community and helping me grow as an individual hope everyone comes down and try the food that needs it well worth it and we are all willing to help you out we have a great staff
